Our Policies

  • No tolerance for abusive remarks.

Tattoo Designs will take place within the night prior to the appointment that you have booked.

Tattoos will be designed in the same sequence that they are reserved.

There will be an opportunity for you to see your Tattoo design on the day of your appointment.

We create our templates digitally, which is a benefit as we are able to resize our designs at the time of your appointment — we always schedule time for possible design changes within the time of your appointment.

We work within the confines of our abilities to accommodate changes where necessary.

In the event that it isn’t what you had in mind, we can always use your appointment timeframe to design something else for a later application date.

Please be as accurate and descriptive while sharing your design ideas with us, as a complete change made to the design within a week will void your deposit, and we may have to rebook your appointment (ex: booking in for a small script tattoo and changing last minute to a 12 inch detailed design).

All artwork that we tattoo is designed by us and must be original artwork. All designs referenced will be altered by a minimum of 30% in order to make each tattoo unique and avoid copyright issues (some exceptions apply; if it is original artwork by you that you would like tattooed or artwork by a friend with written consent).

  • Deposits will be charged at a rate of $100 (min.) and can range as far as $400 (max.) Deposits will be deducted from the final sale price of your tattoo.

    Deposits are non-refundable.

Deposits will not be transferable between separate clients - they are in place in order to compensate the artist for the time spent on your Tattoo Design, and are forfeited in the event of a no-show.

Scheduled times must be adhered to within 30 minutes at risk of your deposit becoming forfeited as well as losing your appointment time slot.

Please allow 48 hours notice in the event that you need to change your appointment time. Changes to the appointment time, tattoo design, or implementation (placement, style, etc.) within 48 hours of your appointment’s START time will forfeit your deposit.

Though some exceptions may apply due to pandemic restrictions, poor weather or medical emergencies - your deposit may be forfeited in the event of a no-show.

We can transfer your deposit for up to two rescheduled appointments, and if you would like to reschedule a third time, another deposit needs to be placed (both amounts will come off of the final price).

  • We want you to have a safe, comfortable and memorable experience while working with us. Please keep in mind the following when planning your appointment and in the days leading up:

Ensure that you get plenty of good quality sleep on the night of your appointment.

We ask that you please arrive right at the time of your appointment (not earlier either).

Stay hydrated - Water will be available on site, but we always recommend keeping an eye on your water intake as this is critical to healthy skin and your quality of rest.

Please avoid drinking heavily before your appointment.

We will not tattoo you if you are visibly hungover, intoxicated or incoherent as we require informed consent in order to proceed with Tattooing.

Keep skin in the area of the intended tattoo well-maintained in the days leading up to the session. We recommend moisturizing, exfoliating and preventing the area from becoming overly sun-saturated.

Please remember to eat at least one hour before the appointment. Water, juice, and candy will be available at the studio, however we recommend some electrolytes or sugary snacks in order to keep your blood sugar up during your appointment. While longer sessions may require food breaks throughout, we ask that you don’t eat within the active Tattoo procedure area.

If you have or use any numbing cream prior to arrival without artist approval, we will not be able to tattoo you.

We do sell Zensa numbing cream at our studio. If you would like to purchase Zensa through our studio please email us at sproutedbeanstattoo@gmail.com and we can coordinate a time to do a patch test. Patch tests must be preformed a minimum of 24 hours before your scheduled tattoo to ensure no allergic reaction.

If you are experiencing skin conditions in the area, we will have to reschedule your appointment. This includes, but is not limited to; Eczema, Acne, Psoriasis, Sun Burns, Open Wounds, Insect Bites, Scratches, Cuts and Bruises.

  • While we will provide as much guidance as possible pertaining to the placement of your tattoo, there are some areas that we will not provide work for — mainly necks and faces.

We are open to reviewing this policy on a case-by-case basis depending on the percentage of coverage that you already have on you. If you have a full sleeve and want to continue onto the shoulders and neck, for example, we may accept this and proceed with the placement.

Please be honest with your coverage. If you show up for this kind of placement and have very few tattoos, we will not be able to proceed and your deposit may be forfeit.

  • We reserve the right to deny service to anybody who is or is assumed to be breastfeeding.

We want to keep each client and their families as safe as possible while working with our studio.

When getting a tattoo, the immune system is greatly compromised in the weeks following and can cause strain on the body and may affect production of breast milk. In addition, any potential infections or compromised immune issues may be transferred to your baby.

For these reasons, we recommend that you wait at least one year, or until you are no longer breastfeeding in order to commence on your tattoo application.

  • Wear your bandage for 3-4 hours minimum (1-4 days if second skin clear bandage is being used).

Wash your hands and carefully remove bandage and safely dispose of it in the garbage.

Gently wash under warm running water. Use mild unscented soap to cleanse then rinse in cold water.

Pat dry with single use paper towel (do not rub).

After 2-3 days when your tattoo begins to look and feel dry apply a thin layer of mild unscented lotion (be careful not to over moisturize and always wash hands before applying).

We recommend using cleanser and lotion in a bottle rather than a tin. Using a tin and double dipping can harbour bacteria. We recommend PURSAN, Spectro Gel or Cetaphil for cleansers, and Aveeno unscented or Lubriderm for the lotion (can be purchased at your local pharmacy). Please avoid Vaseline as it is too thick.

Repeat 1-2 times a day for 2 weeks, or until surfaced healed.

Please do not pick at your tattoo or you risk pulling ink out, keep it covered from the sun until fully healed (about a month), showers are okay but no soaking for at least 3 weeks (no baths or swimming). You also want to avoid any excess exercise in the first two weeks as sweat sitting on your tattoo can lead to infection.

  • Avoid direct exposure from the sun and use of a tanning bed during the healing period

Once healed, be sure to wear a minimum of 20 SPF sunscreen at all times. Sun damage causes tattoos to fade over time.

Do not swim or submerge tattooed area for prolonged time in water (hot tubs, baths, lakes, etc.) for at least 3 weeks.

Make sure all bedding and clothing in contact with your tattoo is clean (pet dander especially harbours bacteria).

Make sure clothing is loose and not directly rubbing against tattooed area until it is healed.

If any excessive signs of redness, swelling, infection, or allergic reaction arise seek medical attention immediately.

No excessive sweating or working out for minimum of one week, but preferably two.

  • We always recommend unscented or hypoallergenic products as fragrance can further irritate the skin.

    Cleanser Recommendations:

    Spectro Gel Cleanser

    Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

    PurSan Aftercare Cleanser

    Moisturizer Recommendations:

    Lubriderm (unscented)

    Cetaphil Moisturizer

    Aveeno Unscented

We recommend staying away from coconut oil, Vaseline, and Polysporin, as it is too thick and won't allow your tattoo to breathe.

We also recommend avoiding any products in a tin that you have to dip into as you risk contamination.

We do sell PurSan Aftercare Cleanser at the studio for $15/bottle.

  • Notwithstanding to the needs of our business operations, we will not collect, store, share or sell any personal information that you provide us to any third parties, data collection services, or Personal Data sales agencies.

Any information provided to us for our operational needs will remain confidentially stored within our business profiles and never released or accessed without your consent.
