Aftercare

The hard part is over,

Now onto step tat-two!

  • Aftercare instructions for non-coloured Tattoos

For Clear Bandage (Sani-Derm, Hypafix, etc.):

Wear your bandage for 2—4 Days

    For Other, Indirectly-Adhering Bandages:

Keep your bandage on for 3—4 Hours

    Maintaining your Tattoo:

Wash your hands and carefully for 20 seconds with soap and warm water.

Remove your bandage and safely dispose of it in the garbage. We recommend removing Second Skin bandages while in the shower so that the warm water can break down the adhesive layers of the bandage.

Gently wash your Tattoo under warm running water using mild, unscented soap to cleanse.

Finish with a quick rinse in cold water.

Pat dry with single use paper towel. Do not rub the tattoo with the paper, as this will integrate fibres and irritate the skin. Do not use a regular Towel as Towels can transmit bacteria into the affected area.

After 2-3 days, when your tattoo begins to look and feel dry, apply a thin layer of mild, unscented lotion. Be careful not to over–moisturize, and always wash your hands using the guidelines stated above before re-application.

Repeat application of moisturizer or treatment balm 1-2 times a day for 2 weeks.

Do not pick at your tattoo.

If you notice any fallout, this is normal and not cause for alarm. You qualify for a free touch-up appointment within 3 months of your tattoo, so please get in touch with us in order to facilitate fixing any trouble spots.

Do not swim, sunbathe or exercise excessively throughout the duration of your healing phase. Allow 3-4 weeks after your tattoo before engaging in these, or any other strenuous activities.
